Privacy Policy

LG Listening Post App is a mobile application developed by the Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi to promote efficient governance through the use of information technology. The application provides an integrated grievance redressal mechanism, enabling citizens to submit, track, and manage complaints online at any time.

The application is hosted and distributed through the NIC e-Gov Mobile App Store and Google Play Store. It delivers e-Governance services to citizens, and the content and services made available through the application are provided by the respective Departments of the Government of NCT of Delhi.

The information available in the application is intended for general reference purposes unless otherwise specified. While every effort is made to ensure accuracy and reliability, users are advised to verify information with the concerned department. Neither the National Informatics Centre (NIC) nor the Government of NCT of Delhi shall be held liable for any inadvertent errors or omissions.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Name
• Mobile number
• Email address
• Username and password
• Address and location details related to grievances
• Complaint details and supporting information submitted by you
• Any communication or feedback provided to support teams

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Device type, model, and manufacturer
• Operating system version
• Unique device identifiers
• IP address
• App usage statistics (pages accessed, features used, session duration)

1.3 Sensitive Personal Information

The Application does not intentionally collect sensitive personal data (such as financial information, biometric data, health data, etc.) unless explicitly required for grievance processing and provided voluntarily by the user.

2. Purpose of Data Collection

• Registration and account management
• Submission, processing, and tracking of grievances
• Communication regarding complaint status and updates
• Providing user support and resolving issues
• Improving application performance, security, and user experience
• Compliance with applicable laws and government policies

We do not use personal data for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

• With concerned Government Departments for grievance redressal
• To comply with legal obligations, court orders, or lawful requests
• To protect the rights, safety, and security of users or the Government
• With authorized service providers (such as NIC or technical partners) strictly for operational purposes

We do not sell, rent, or trade user data to any third party.

4. Data Retention

• Personal data is retained as long as the user account is active and as required for grievance redressal.
• Data may be retained further to comply with legal, audit, or record-keeping requirements.
• Non-personal and aggregated data may be retained for analytics and system improvement.

5. User Rights and Controls

5.1 Access and Update

Users may review and update their profile information within the Application.

5.3 Permissions

The Application may request permissions (such as location, storage, etc.) only when required for core functionality. Users may manage or revoke permissions through device settings

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect user data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no digital system can guarantee complete security, and users are advised to exercise caution while sharing information.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Application is not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children

8. Third-Party Services

The Application may use trusted third-party services (such as hosting, analytics, or notification services). These services operate under their own privacy policies and are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
